There shouldn't be another one, in my opinion. We have enough armor reskins and once-rare weapons that aren't rare anymore.

I agree that they should give GW an "epic send off" but not 'til shortly before the release of GW2. I expect they will too to raise peoples awareness of GW2 at the time and increase peoples interest in the game, motivating them to go out and buy it. Y'know, like they did with EotN and the Ooze and rats appearing in outposts, but on a larger scale.
As for a further expansion? I think not. GW has loads of content as it is. Another god realm or two would be nice. If they do that then great, I'll be very grateful. If not, nothing gained = nothing lost.
I would also like something like another cut-scene at the scrying pool at HoM sometime giving some sort of preview of things to come, even if it's just to show off little bits of what they're working on.

Here are some answers for some questions in the thread so far
1. I got my 7 month figures from a guildie, he stopped playing a while ago, said he was gonna wait for gw2 to come out before playing again (and demonstrated a vast and colorful vocabulary while at it xD)
2. Not all of the expansions were really bad. Nightfall had some storyline problems and shortcomings, Factions had some skill and class issues. But the two did sorta balance out since they excelled in the other areas.
3. Since when are game sequals ever halfway better then the originals? It's just like movies except we're interacting with them.
4. If you think about it the talk about changing the level cap and class/race system around really will kill gw2. They don't need to change all of that around as it is.
And that's my bit on this issue (and I think a few other issues) please continue to post in this thread and thank you for your time.

lol thanks. I needed a laugh.
As for if they should make another expansion or not... the player in me wants to say yes. I mean, who wouldn't want more stuff to keep them entertained? What else do we have to hold ourselves over until GW2? GW:EN? That was a huge letdown. The bonus mission pack? I doubt it's going to keep us entertained for months. PvP? It's becoming mindless flavor of the month builds to farm PvP titles. Titles? Don't get me started on how poorly thought out most of the titles are.
The logical part of me, the part that wins this, is a clear no. Sad to say, ANet has fairly given up on GW to focus so much on GW2. It was so obvious when they gave us GW:EN. I loved all 3 campagins and was quite surprised and immensely disappointed in the rushed, BS of an expansion they called GW:EN. A campaign really won't save GW sadly, especially given that we know it's not going to have the dedication to it like the campaigns and earlier additions. I rather them really think about their game, evaluate what worked and what didn't, and use that to make GW2 the game the players TRULY want instead of trying to throw together another expansion to keep us amused for a month or two at best. At least, I can hope that's what they are doing...

You win the ignorant post of the day. If you have ever been in a party with a competent paragon (even after all the nerfs) you wouldn't think that at all. All three of your "incredibly stupid" professions have plenty of uses, but all three were soiled by players that couldn't (or wouldn't) learn to play their parts correctly. Few assassins understand that THEY CAN'T TANK. Paragons are about protection and buffs. Dervishes dish out damage, and if played properly, aren't too bad at tanking themselves.

New god realms for lyssa, melandru, dwayna. Some sort of storyline featuring Dhuum and Menzies. I can write a whole script in great detail that would make total sense and all. Unfortunately, Anet hasn't hired me An expansion like this would be nice.

I disagree. To me, they left too much unfinished in GW1 and I'd prefer GW2 to be a fresh slate and not,:well there were a few things these people who were able to beat up a god, among other things, but didn't really care to get around to dealing with. I mean in theory they could have stopped Polo Joker or stopped the charr invasion for good, but decided not to because after meeting Jora/Xandra/adult Gwen they couldn't really keep their mind on protecting the world.

I'm pretty sure he's talking from a PvP pov. For PvP, factions and nightfall royally screwed alot up. So no, his post wasn't ignorant, it was pretty much true.

then please write up the script and send it to Anet. Then we get a new expansion that finishes off the game and we can content ourselves with not playing guild wars instad of aimlessly playing, trying to find where the ending is. :P

Some of the most fun we've ever had as a team was building the Sorrow's Furnace region for our players. The Bonus Mission Pack is really the first chance we've had since then (other than holiday events) to take on a fun side project. It just seemed like the right thing to do before we turn our attention fully toward Guild Wars 2.
|
According to this quote, the BMP could well be the last major content addition to GW. We can expect updates fixing minor issues and continued skill balancing, but otherwise, ANet is now focused on GW2 development.

I just want new features added. Occasionally, new armor sets. New weapons. Maybe new skills (it would keep us PvPers entertained for a while to come up with some damn builds), and DEFINITELY more CAPE DESIGNS.
Gaile, read. CAPE DESIGNS. MORE. MORE PATTERNS, BOTTOMS, AND INSIGNIAS. MORE. MORE. MORE!

I think what no ones taking into account, is the fact they can sub-contract the next expansion to another developer. It does not have to be A-net that strictly develops stuff for GW. I mean Bioware does it with Obsidian. When Bioware moves on to another project, they let their sister studio, Obsidian take over some of their old projects. Who knows, maybe another developer could bring GW out of the “Dark Ages.”

I'd be cool with more expansions if they were done well. Seeing as how I've never planned on getting GW2 I'm not too concerned with its develoment, but it's ANet's call not mine.

Quite true. I wish that they had released GW:Utopia as the great, final, campaign in the series instead of EotN. Then just before GW2 came out release EotN with pretty much the same stoyline as it has now, albeit with perhaps a little less hype.
